Baked Steak and Yorkshire Puddings

This is a tasty little recipe  that I tried for the first time! The Yorkshire Puddings are dripping-free and taste pretty much like pancakes.

Baked Steak: (recipe from Rally Cookbook No. 1)

750g Rump Steak (or any cheaper cut of beef)

Salt and Pepper

1 tbsp Vinegar

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 tbsp flour

1 tbsp Worcester or Soy Sauce

1 tbsp tomato sauce

Put it together in an oven dish, cover, and bake at 150C (low heat) for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Yorkshire Puddings:

1 cup plain flour

2/3 cup milk

1/3 cup water

1/2 tsp salt

2 eggs

Mix it all together and beat well. Stand for 30 mins (or less if necessary).

Put 1/2 tsp oil or butter into muffin tray. Place in hot oven for 2 mins to heat the oil.

Take it out, and fill to the top with batter.

Bake 25-30 mins in hot oven.

Stab holes in them and fill with meat and gravy!
